Rehearsals for "The Grasshopper and The Ants" in Chislehurst

This Summer, out Students will be performing the following plays for their family and friends.

The Grasshopper and The Ants
The lazy Grasshopper just wants to play and can't be bothered to help the ants collect food for the winter. He would like them to share their food with him and he has to use all his powers of persuasion to convince them he deserves their grub!

Lazy Lak
This is a tale from Dutch Folklore which tells the story of Piet Lak and the origin of 'lazybones day'. Children knock on doors in the early morning and anyone who is still in bed has to give them cakes and sweets. A tale within a tale!

Fancy That !
It's Gloria Van De Bergen's fancy dress ball - the party of the year!  There are some fantastic costumes, everyone has made a huge effort especially the 'revolting Robinsons' from down the street, who have gate-crashed the party dressed as aliens. Will it all end in tears when Gloria's precious necklace is stolen?

Fiesta in Triesta
It's Fiesta time in Mexico and mothers are looking for suitable husbands for their daughters.  Will it be Carlos, the famous matador or Pasqual, the bandido?  Will no-one consider lazy Manuel who likes to sleep all day?
When the bull breaks loose, who will be there to save the day?

Perfect Scandal
The stars of a new film: "The Kavanaghs of Killarney" are worried about their Box Office takings.  What they need is a scandal to get them some publicity. Then Melanie turns up - the long lost daughter of the leading lady - and the perfect scandal is created!

The Legend of Tim Sandy
It's Sunday at the beach and the Muscle Mob arrive to throw their weight about.  Insecure, Tim Sandy loses his girlfriend to another.  The action moves to the gym and on to the Casino. Bulger (Muscle) moves in on Dolores but is never quite what she wants. Will she live to regret her decision to marry him. . .

5TH, 6TH & 12TH JULY 2008
TECHNICAL REHEARSAL & PERFORMANCE

To familiarise our students with the venue, each of the classes are asked to attend a 30 minute technical rehearsal, prior to the performance. At the conclusion of the rehearsal, you may collect your child and return with them fifteen minutes before the start of the performance. However, if it is more convenient, your child is welcome to remain at the venue and watch the remainder of the rehearsals. Children remaining should bring a small snack and drink (not fizzy) and a book or personal game (noiseless!) They will of course be supervised at all times. Plays will be performed in age group order: Lower Primary, Upper Primary then Youth Theatre. At the end of each show all students will be invited back on stage for a company bow and the presentation of certificates and trophies.
A separate schedule for the rehearsals and performances has been given out to all students and your class teacher will have spare copy if you need one.
